Role Description

FA Consulting Associate Consultants (ACs) are expert generalists who inform project delivery with quality research, rigorous analysis, and concise communication. ACs are primarily responsible for knowledge management and deliverable development, working under the guidance of a project manager. Our teams work across several issue areas and knowledge domains, requiring a high degree of creativity, adaptability, and responsiveness. The ideal candidate combines a solid consulting toolkit with a demonstrated ability to learn quickly, a passion for social impact, and up-to-date knowledge of issue areas such as public health systems, climate resilience and adaptation, and economic opportunity for youth.

Responsibilities

  • Research and data management: Identifying quality data sources, collating, cleaning, and triangulating data, building and maintaining project knowledge bases
  • Stakeholder management: Identifying, contacting, and coordinating interactions with relevant stakeholders for input to deliverables, program participation, evaluation, and feedback purposes
  • Data analysis: Applying appropriate methods and frameworks to analyse data, compile Excel databases and models, visualize relevant information, and develop testable hypotheses and actionable insights
  • Communication: Communicating findings in both verbal and written formats, e.g., contributing to team and update meetings, writing long form reports and PowerPoint presentations
  • Business development: Contributing to opportunity identification and evaluation, development of concept notes and proposals, supporting long term relationships and creation of networks and partnerships to drive African development agendas.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, engineering, economics, or a related field. Additional certifications in relevant methods will be considered as an advantage
  • Two years’ experience at a leading management consultancy firm required, additional experiences in economic development-related fields will be an added advantage
  • Significant experience living and working in developing country contexts required, preferably in Africa
  • Sensitivity to varied political and cultural environments, and demonstrated commitment to African interests and positions on economic and social governance and development issues
  • Strong qualitative research skills, particularly in conducting and analyzing interviews especially with young people, including observing data protection and ethics principles
  • Excellent writing and communication skills and experience presenting complex information in a variety of formats for different audiences
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative analytical methods, comfort with systems thinking, human-centered design, and/or monitoring and evaluation methods will be an added advantage
  • Ability to perform in an entrepreneurial environment

Senior Consultants are primarily responsible for developing insights and recommendations for clients, working under the guidance of a project manager and/or director. Our teams work across several issue areas and knowledge domains, requiring a high degree of creativity, adaptability, and responsiveness. The ideal candidate is an expert generalist with a solid consulting toolkit and demonstrated knowledge of issues related to skills development and economic opportunity for youth. Prior experience in policy-oriented research and advocacy environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Problem solving: Developing and adapting appropriate methods and frameworks to analyse relevant information, developing testable hypotheses, actionable insights, and robust recommendations
  • Communication: Communicating findings in both verbal and written formats, e.g., leading team meetings, writing long form reports, developing and delivering PowerPoint presentations, and compiling Excel databases and models
  • Stakeholder management: Identifying, contacting, and coordinating interactions with relevant stakeholders for input to deliverables, program participation, evaluation, and feedback purposes. Conducting interviews and focus group discussions, facilitating meetings and workshops
  • Business development: Opportunity identification and evaluation, development of concept notes and proposals, supporting long term relationships and creation of networks and partnerships to drive African development agendas

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, engineering, economics, or a related field. A relevant master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of four years’ progressively senior experience at a leading management consultancy firm required; additional experiences in economic development-related fields will be an added advantage.
  • Significant experience living and working in developing country contexts, preferably in Africa.
  • Sensitivity to varied political and cultural environments, and demonstrated commitment to African interests and positions on economic and social governance and development issues
  • Excellent writing and communication skills and experience presenting complex information in a variety of formats and styles for different audiences.

Role Description

Future Africa Consulting seeks an experienced and dynamic Administrative Coordinator who is committed to delivering exceptional administrative, organizational and logistical support. The Administrative Coordinator will play a crucial role in enabling the CEO, executive-level team members and the organization to operate efficiently. They will also provide calendar management, coordinate team-wide travel logistics, and will be required to apply decision-making to fulfill critical administrative and logistical requests. Our teams work across several issue areas and knowledge domains, requiring a high degree of creativity, adaptability, and responsiveness. The ideal candidate will combine strong administrative experience, a can-do attitude, ability to handle ambiguity and confidential/sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support relieving senior leadership of detail-oriented tasks.
  • Manage senior leadership schedules, including appointments, meetings, events and high priority tasks.
  • Manage the team’s and stakeholders travel itineraries (accommodation bookings, visas, and transfers).
  • Serve as the main point of contact for visitors, answering inquiries and directing them as necessary.
  • Maintain confidential files and documents incl. employee records, correspondence, and reports as needed.
  • Oversee administrative functions including procuring supplies, managing IT and facilities compliance (licenses, certificates, permits etc) and requests, and maintaining conference or board room schedules.
  • Assist with financial tasks, such as processing expense reports and ensuring compliance with tax requirements through the company system and in concert with the Finance team.

  • Clients: Provide high level client management, provide expert input, and ensure quality control of client delivery, build trusted advisor relationships with client executives and senior stakeholders in relevant organisations and fields.
  • Business development: Identify new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Enhance the organisations reputation and expertise through knowledge development and thought leadership

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree, preferably an MBA or Master’s degree in a relevant field
